September 2021
I have a theory about knowledge, you can only know as much as your space, or society, or network and experience allow you to. This supports the fact that you need to learn more, and the chances of learning are bigger when you step away from your limited space into another zone where there is a chance to experience more.
With music, we can never know enough, because of the vastness of what music represents - it's symbolism, music as a craft and the creativity surrounding it, as a profession, vocal display and mastery. We can take the subjects of music into even broader topics as performance, song writing, instrumental music, sound engineering, Artiste development and repertoire, music marketing, branding, music culture etc and speak on it for as long as the topics allow us to.
Do we, as music enthusiasts and musicians know enough to sustain our careers? Of course not, it's why we hanker on things like social events and networking, a beneficial tool for anyone who is interested in the business of music. Learning never stops and we believe this so strongly at TuneAfrique, that we are consistently bringing you more information via our webinars.
This month, we are hosting Durell Peart, a Music Executive who's passionate about Indie Creatives, Manager & Consultant/ Team Lead for DoubleN Management, Florida USA on the webinar. He will enlighten us about the secrets of fan conversion - I surely can't wait to hear this one. I will also be sharing, in addition to learning at this session, about simple brands strategies that indie creatives can adopt for their career building.
